Slaughterhouse wins #1 track in MOH Top 100 with ‘DON’T SLEEP’
Big news: the number one track of this year’s Masters of Hardcore Top 100 is Slaughterhouse – DON’T SLEEP. The huge track became a hit on social media and reached a streaming milestone just within the first day. N-Vitral and Deadly Guns open up about winning this year’s MOH Top 100.
Every big hit has to start somewhere. During the Masters of Hardcore Top 100 stream, N-Vitral tells about the start of DON’T SLEEP: “The first thing we had was the melody. From there, everything just rolled out. I think we made this track in one, maybe one and a half days. Maybe not even. Inspiration just flowed, and that’s a good formula for a big track.” On the first day of the release, DON’T SLEEP almost hit the milestone of 200.00 streams. “198.000, to be exact,” shares Deadly Guns. “Those are crazy numbers, absolutely crazy.”
Both artists agree that social media helped make this track such a big hype, but in the end, they already knew in the studio that this could become the next hit. “I can still remember sitting us in the studio, creating DON’T SLEEP,” tells N-Vitral. “I said, we have something special here. Everybody is doing the uptempo thing right now, all the big tracks are so fast. It’s really difficult to go against the grain and do something completely different. But this was actually something completely different, but we still rocked the shit out of it.”
Deadly Guns thinks their #1 track is extremely heavy, even though the track may be not high in BPM’s. “Something new is always good. It’s an evolution of style. It just keeps the scene going, the scene will only survive if there’s going to be some change every now and then. We’ve seen that before from millennium hardcore, hardstyle, euphoric hardstyle… and now we’re probably seeing that again.”
“Slaughterhouse is a big passion project”
In the end, N-Vitral thinks that the successful thing about Slaughterhouse is just the fact that they are having fun. “We’re doing whatever we want. That always seems to be a big success formula. We don’t overthink all the tracks, we just go with the flow and release them. The process behind all the tracks was super fast, just because we were having fun basically. It’s a big passion project.”
N-Vitral and Deadly Guns are not sure yet what they want to bring with Slaughterhouse next year, but one thing is certain: they have a lot of new tracks. You can find a preview of them in the recently released Supremacy set. Or better, buy tickets for Masters of Hardcore 2025 and pay a visit to their mainstage set. “Next year will be sick, we’ve got some good stuff coming up,” spoils Deadly Guns.
